This is an original watercolor and pencil piece I (“Big Nick” Solovey) did in 2014. It depicts the legendary Mercedes Benz 300 SLR in the 1955 Mille Miglia race from Brecia to Roma and back. With the great Stirling Moss at the wheel and Denis “Jenks” Jenkinon as navigator calling out turns. Number 722 (their race registration number) set a record of 10 hours, averaging almost 100 MPH! That record still stands today.
The work itself is on acid free paper and was archival framed. A great addition for anyone who holds dear the German auto manufacturer and its racing heritage. Size of art is 13 1/2″ X 10 1/4″ Overall framed piece is 21″ X 17″.
